Heidi Chocolat Group takes over Chocolat-Manufactury Schönenberger in Lucerne, Switzerland05.06.2018
Lucerne, 17.04.2018 – Hans Rudin, owner and Managing Director of Chocolat Schönenberger AG, identified with HEIDI Chocolat his desired partner and perfect fit for the future of his company and his 60 employees.
HEIDI Chocolat Group AG located in Zug, Switzerland takes over effective April 2018 the Swiss manufacturer of sustainable produced and high quality chocolate specialties (Fairtrade, Bio, vegan)
The story of HEIDI has Switzerland origins. The group exports today in around 50 markets across the globe and is producing in several European countries with the main production facility in Pantelimon, Romania. HEIDI Chocolat continues the international strategy and expands with this acquisition the production capacities and the access to the Swiss market.
Succession and continuation of 60 workplaces secured
«Succession in KMU is often a difficult and long process. It was important to me that my company and my employees will be handed over in safe hands. This has been now achieved after a careful and selective search», says Hans Rudin (71). «Heidi Chocolat stands, as previous acquisitions of established and high-quality companies in Austria and Germany in recent years have proven, for a prudent and successful continuation of acquired companies». Chocolat Schönenberger becomes with this acquisition a part of the international HEIDI family. The management of the company will be taken over by Philippe Scherer, a long-standing management member of Chocolat Schönenberger AG. Hans Rudin will support and advise HEIDI Chocolat in the coming months so secure a smooth and successful transition.
HEIDI comes back to its original roots in Switzerland and continues the international strategy

Heidi was founded in the 1990’s by the Swiss Premium-Chocolatier Laederach in Romania and was taken over in 2013 by the Austrian Meinl family.
